Casa de la India is a cultural foundation comprising the following bodies:

Honorary Council

The Honorary Council of Casa de la India is made up of prominent figures and institutions, with honorary and advisory functions, to better serve the aims of the Foundation. Her Royal Highness Princess Irene of Greece is the President of the Honorary Council. Among the distinguished members of the Honorary Council are conductor Zubin Mehta, businessman Ratan Tata and Sukanya Shankar (widow of Ravi Shankar).

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the highest governing body responsible for the management and control of the Casa de la India Foundation. It is composed of the following members:

  1. President: The presidency is rotational, being exercised successively for two-year terms by the Mayor-President of the City Council of Valladolid and the Rector of the University of Valladolid.
  2. Vice-President: The vice-presidency falls to the positions called upon to preside, in reverse order to the presidency.
  3. Members:
    1. Councillor for Culture of the City Council of Valladolid.
    2. A representative of the University of Valladolid.
    3. Two representatives of the Republic of India.
    4. The trustees who are admitted to the Foundation by virtue of their contribution or support to the foundation’s purposes.
  4. Secretary: appointed by the Board of Trustees.

Director

The director is appointed by the Board of Trustees to oversee the running of Casa de la India.

Advisory Committee

As a consultative body, it is composed of renowned specialists and representatives of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Board of Friends

The Board of Friends of Casa de la India brings together individuals and entities that collaborate with the Casa de la India Foundation. It also has the function of offering proposals and suggestions in relation to the foundation’s objectives.
