With the support of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) of the Indian Government regular courses in Hindi are offered, recognised by the University of Valladolid (Language Centre) and taught by native teachers up to different levels. These courses are aimed at university students and members of the general public interested in learning one of the most important languages in the world and in widening their knowledge of Indian culture. The Hindi language classes are theoretical and practical, and are focussed in such a way that the student can dominate the script and use the language in a real context.
Casa de la India hopes to promote postgraduate courses on India by supporting, along with the University of Valladolid and other universities, the initiative to start a Master in Indian Studies. It is hoped that the Specialist in India postgraduate course previously offered by the University of Valladolid will, under the new postgraduate system now in place in Spain, form the basis of a Master offered in conjunction with other universities. |
